Landlords invited to fire event
CITY landlords are being urged to take part in an expo to help tackle fire deaths and injuries.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said since April 2009 they had attended numerous domestic fires resulting in eight deaths in West Devon alone.
In the same time period there have been 694 domestic fires in Plymouth, causing not only injury to 50 people, but also suffering and disruption.
The service said the biggest cause of these accidental fires was cooking-related.
West Country Landlords' Association, in conjunction with Plymouth City Council, are holding the free Landlord Expo at Plymouth City Guildhall on October 25 from noon until 7pm.
