Laundry basket fire in Tavistock
FIRE crews were called to a property in Tavistock involving a laundry basket being left on a cooker.
The call came in at 9.06am today from an address in Warren Road.

One fire engine from Tavistock, was sent and reported the fire in the kitchen as 'out on arrival'.
The fire had involved a laundry basket being left on top of the cooker. The kitchen was severely damaged by heat and smoke.

“In the meantime Ambulance crews responded to and dealt with dozens of incidents. Likewise so did the Police, hospital staff cracked on as normal and community nurses and carers went about their normal day.......Strange though none if them felt the need to contact the local paper about it. Call me a cynical old fool but goverment cuts aren't on the horizon are they? Striking is out of the question now so I guess a media bombardment is the only answer”
