A CITY law firm turned up the heat to raise hundreds of pounds for Derriford-based children's bereavement charity Jeremiah's Journey.

Partners, receptionists and volunteers all got stuck in to Wolferstans' fundraising ironing day.

The company is aiming to raise £2,012 for regional charities each month during 2012, as it celebrates 200 years in business.

The £420 raised with the ironing day was doubled thanks to this year's Localgiving.com Plymouth Community Challenge.

"We managed to have a full load to iron for the whole day," said Wolferstans partner Philip Thorneycroft, who is also chair of the firm's fundraising scheme, the 2012 Project.
