The Schools Tennis Road Show 2012, which will arrive in plymouth on February 28, is making its first stop today as it arrives in Bolton for the first of 16 visits to venues across Great Britain in February and March.

The Road Shows are free to attend and will take place across England, Scotland and Wales from Plymouth all the way up to Dundee.

The Schools Tennis Road Show aims to provide an overview of all the support available to schools, highlight new resources and products, and demonstrate practical ideas for delivering tennis in an educational environment.

The Tennis Foundation’s Head of Education Tom Gibbins said: “The Road Show is a great chance for us to promote the opportunities we have available to support teachers in helping more children play tennis at school.”

Tutors Paul Williams and Phil Leighton will put everyone through their paces with Mini Tennis sessions on court, as well as providing information on school competitions and getting teenagers involved in the Tennis Leaders programme to start coaching.

The Road Show is primarily targeted at the school sport infrastructure, such as SSCO's and Active Schools Managers, but teachers who deliver tennis or PE are also welcome to attend.

Since they began in 2009, more than 2,500 people have attended the Schools Tennis Road Show with 100% of last year’s participants rating their experience as 'good' or 'excellent'.

In those four years, AEGON Schools Tennis has donated more than 390,000 free rackets to schools and trained more than 20,000 teachers and coaches
