SNOOKER: Four snooker legends are aiming to pocket a new title at the Plymouth Pavilions next July.

Jimmy White, Alex Higgins, John Parrott and Cliff Thorburn will be playing each other for a new Pavilions Legend 2010 title.

The event, on Saturday, July 24, will be hosted by another superstar from the past, John Virgo.

Higgins is one of the most recognizable players from the past – he won his second world championship 28 years ago.

Canadian Cliff Thorburn is the only overseas winner of the world championship, while Jimmy White, who still competes on the main tour, is probably one of the most popular players the game has ever had.

Parrott is a former world and UK champion.

One audience member will be selected to partner one of the legends in a doubles match.

Pavilions marketing officer Rob Maltby said: "This is every snooker fan's dream to have all their favourite legends in one room.

"I'm sure it will be a fantastic evening."
