Les Miserables is being screened at Plymouth Arts Centre throughout the start of March 2013.
The Oscar-winning director of The King’s Speech brings together a constellation of Hollywood stars for this magnificent adaptation of the timeless musical. Set in the nineteenth-century during the French Revolution, the film sees ex-convict Jean Valjean (Jackman) set out to make his fortune, doggedly pursued by police Inspector Javert (Crowe) – and there begins a spectacular story of unrequited love, broken dreams and redemption. Filmed in England and Paris, it features a dazzling score sung by the cast including classic songs ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ and ‘On My Own’. Les Miserables is a breath-taking cinematic spectacle and a triumph for British filmmaking.
