Tourism and leisure companies in Plymouth will have the opportunity to learn how to improve their business through making the most of internet and modern technologies at targeted workshops to be held in Spring 2013.

The workshops, which will be free to attend, are being run specifically for local Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism and leisure sector, such as restaurants, hotels, guest houses, bars and retailers.

Key topics will include cloud computing, web design, broadband, wi-fi, social media, mobile media and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), with input from case studies of successful local businesses.

Plymouth Chamber of Commerce has been announced as the chosen provider of the workshops, which have been commissioned by Plymouth City Council.

“These workshops will highlight the benefits of making full use of internet and modern technologies and will be a fantastic opportunity for local tourism and leisure businesses to access practical advice and expertise to find out how they can make it work for their businesses.”

Speakers are currently being identified for the workshops, which will have a confirmed date shortly. More information will be posted on the Plymouth Chamber website by the end of January.
