Loss of homes
HOW sad it is to see ever-increasing numbers of people losing their homes.
Unscrupulous financial lenders are in many cases of course the guilty party.
In this city and indeed throughout our land, this outrageous act is allowed to continue, while foreign immigrants are housed for fear of offending their EU human rights.
It is high time we started to look after our own people, many on the street of course have problems. Alcohol, drugs and the like are often the cause but these individuals also should have somewhere decent to lay their heads at night and should not be left in a shop doorway. You wouldn't treat a dog like it!

There are now estimated to be 50,000 homeless families in the UK and countless single people. Whoever would have envisaged this catastrophe arising in the 21st century? This is an indictment on our Government and the society that we live in.
I would therefore ask all local and nationally-elected officials, to not just pay lip service to this outrageous problem but to meaningfully partake in tackling this issue.
If I am asked to lead by example, then I (and several of my colleagues) would be only too willing to help any charity distribute food or clothing to the needy at this festive period or indeed at any time of the year.
BILL WAKEHAM
Vice-chairman, UKIP Plymouth and SW Devon

“Is this buffoon for real?
If this is what the vice chairman says it doesn't cive much hope for the rest of UKIP.
He says:
"If I am asked to lead by example, then I (and several of my colleagues) would be only too willing to help any charity distribute food or clothing "
Why are you waiting to be asked? Get yourself out there.
Unless you are just doing a bit of posturing that is...
And, if you were on top of your subject you'd know that the EU is nothing to do with the human rights act.”
