ADULTS are being urged to "make that leap" and give children a new home.

Plymouth City Council's new adoption campaign hopes to see more adults in Devon and Cornwall take on children who are in need of loving environments.

People can call Plymouth's adoption team or log on to the website to complete the adoption quick questionnaire to find out if they could potentially adopt.

Last year 51 children in Plymouth needed adoption and 24 new, successful adoption applications were made from people looking to adopt. Of those, 19 were from heterosexual couples, one was from a same sex couple and four were from single adopters.
