LIFELONG Argyle fan Ken Beale and some of his friends have rallied around to give the Far Post Club at Home Park a much-needed makeover.

It was crying out for a fresh coat of paint and repairs and, after meeting Far Post Club manager George Lyth and his assistant Shane Porter, Beale agreed to carry out the work.

The Senior Greens provided funding for the materials.

Beale was assisted by John Bowhay, Derek Harris, Brian Nettleship, Bob Pearce and Rob Warren, and all the decorating works and repairs were completed within a week.

“well done ken and the gang but as others have said instead of senior greens handing over 300 pound for paint etc surely brent should be paying for this after all he owns the club and as far as i can see what does he actually pay for.”

“Wow, is the club still going? I was a founder member there when it first opened (must have been 1974 or 1975). From memory, it was only a temporary structure then, destined to last a maximum of 10 years. I have many fond memories of the club - hosted by Gordon and Shirley back in those days. Unfortunately, I've moved to pastures new many times since then, and am currently residing in Thailand. Well done guys for keeping the old ship afloat!!”
