Man admits attempted sex attack as well as knife and threat charges
A MUTLEY man is to be sentenced in September after admitting four serious charges.
Trevor Jones pleaded guilty to attempted sexual assault of a woman between March 29 and April 1, possession of a kitchen knife on North Hill on March 31 and two counts of threatening behaviour, one of them in The Junction pub, also on March 31, when he appeared yesterday at Plymouth Crown Court.
The court heard that Jones, 49 and from Ermington Terrace, has a diagnosed psychiatric condition, suspected schizophrenia, for which he is treated with medication by his GP, though he has not seen a psychiatrist for 25 years. He had been drinking at the time of the incident on March 31.
Judge Paul Darlow ordered a pre-sentence report from the Probation Service and a psychiatric report.
He remanded Jones in custody until he is sentenced.
The date has been set for Friday, September 17.
