Man charged after hanging himself off Plymouth's Gdynia Way bridge
One of Plymouth's busiest roads had to be shut by police after a man allegedly dangled himself from a bridge with a rope around his waist.
Police were sent to Gdynia Way at 9pm last night following a report of a man with a rope around his waist suspended and hanging from a bridge above the road.

Police closed the road and the man was removed uninjured with the help of the fire service at around 10.15pm.
A local man, named locally as Lee Bassett aged 29, was arrested and taken to Charles Cross Police Station.
He was later charged with causing danger to other road users and released on bail to appear before South and West Devon Magistrates on February 11.
Road users say the traffic was badly disrupted through the city - with theatre-goers trying to get home among those stuck on the roads.
Many took to social networks to complain, posting pictures of Bassett apparently in a harness.
