Man due in court to face 14 charges
A MAN was due to appear before magistrates today to face 14 charges following a string of incidents across the city being investigated by police.
Damien McEvoy, aged 39, was arrested in Eggbuckland Road, Higher Compton, at around 6.15pm on Tuesday after officers used their police vehicle to block in a grey Volkswagen Golf car.
McEvoy was to appear before Plymouth Magistrates Court today charged with attempted robbery, two counts of aggravated vehicle taking, two counts of assault, two counts of public order offences, one count of theft and one count of bilking.
McEvoy, of Arundel Crescent, Stonehouse, also faces charges in relation to a number of driving offences including failure to provide a sample, failure to produce a valid driving licence and driving without the proper insurance.
