Man drifted in stolen boat in Sutton Harbour

A MAN has been cautioned after he set himself adrift in a small fishing boat in Sutton Harbour.

The 34-year-old Birmingham man was given a police caution.

Police received a call from a man at the harbour at about 11.40pm on Monday.

They found the man had climbed on board a boat and untied the ropes allowing it to drift around the harbour.

Police, along with Ministry of Defence Police, attended in a boat, boarded the stolen vessel and arrested the man.

He was then detained at Charles Cross Police Station before being interviewed and cautioned for taking the boat without consent.
