Man glassed in the face with Bulmers cider bottle in Plymouth's Walkabout bar
A man was struck in the face with a glass bottle in a Plymouth pub in an unprovoked attack, say police.
The 20-year-old victim was attacked while he was dancing with a woman on the dance floor at the Walkabout bar on Union Street.

Police say a man approached the victim and hit him across the face with what is thought to be a Bulmers cider bottle.
The victim, from Plymouth, was treated in hospital for a large cut below his eye.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault which happened close to the DJ box just after 1.30am on Sunday, February 10.
The suspect is described as a white man, approx 6ft tall, and wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
He had tattoos on his arms including a large tattoo on his left bicep.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call police on 101, quoting crime ref EC/13/1340.

“Bulmers = underage drinker, so maybe Walkabout don't want him caught. If establishments such as this stopped accepting cash and made everyone pay by card violence would immediately fall as people would know they could be traced from the till records.”

“I guess the only useful reason for reporting the type of bottle is that someone might remember that kind of detail. Bar staff, for instance, often remember people by the drinks that they buy. If it jogs someone's memory so the thug can be caught, that's a good thing.”

“@trex1. We're laughing at the quality of the reporting, not the incident itself. Pointless information don't you think? Laughing too at our judicial system, whereby we're only too aware that the perpetrator of this crime, if caught, will not be suitably punished, if at all. We're mocking the system.
The only clue, with it being a Bulmers bottle, is that the offender is a pauper who lacks taste. Not many of them about in our fair city eh?”
