Man punched in Plymouth road rage incident
A MAN was punched through his car window by another driver in a Plymouth road rage incident, police said. The incident happened at around 11.35am this morning on Manamead Road, close to the Golden Hind pub. Allegedly the male driver of a silver Honda Accord punched the driver of a blue MG ZR Saloon through the car window. A member of the public called the police to report the incident and said that the offender had terrible road rage and was shouting at the driver of the MG. After the incident, the offender headed towards Kneele Gardens and the victim towards Mutley Plain. Police would like to hear from any witnesses, call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111 quoting log number 301 of February 6.

“I can guarantee this will be a case of resident losing his rag with people thinking they don't have to follow the signs.
I'm fed up with risking my life and getting abuse from people who are too ignorant to follow the signs and drive properly.
But then this is just typical of many drivers out there at the moment who think if they drive fast enough and don't look at you, then magically you're not there and they've done no wrong, even if your half way through manoeuvring the lanes correctly and have to emergency stop to prevent an accident.
Kneele Gardens is not a cul-de-sac but a street leading to Linketty Lane then Beaumaris Road and on to many, many more streets. These ignorant drivers have to remember we have one way in one way out and their poor driving stops us getting home. The amount of times I've have to do a loop to try and get down to my house. And all because people think they don't have to wait in a queue they have a right to floor it down the left hand lane and jump in. Then be idiots and don't let you in, when they were in the wrong in the first place.
When will the council listen to our complaints and sort out the mess and chaos they created.
Fed up Hartley Vale resident.”

“If it was against one of those that pretend they cant read the 6 signs and still cut in from the slip road .... well done to the driver of the accord . I feel like doing it myself to the 20% that disregard the signs .
The police are not enforcing it ,so what else do they expect from law abiding motorists when confronted with bad drivers ?
Its natural for people to start taking the law into their own hands . It shouldnt be that way... but what other choice is there ? Just let idiots rule the road and say and do nothing - like sheep ?
They have cameras to enforce bus lanes ... why not cameras to see the ones that nearly cause an accident on purpose ?”

“Kneele Gardens is a cul-de-sac, albeit a long one, so it shouldn't be too difficult to check if anyone living down there or on any of the roads leading off Beaumaris Road owns a silver Honda Accord.”

“It's easy to see why Plymouth is widely known as chav city by the comments on here condoning this kind of mindless yob behaviour.”

“Quite agree with Mr Mercenary, it clearly states that to proceed towards Mutley, to stay in the outside lane, which I always do, only to have to deal with idiots trying to undertake me at the merging point, i am not trying to push in, merely obeying the highway code.”

“I would put money on one of the drivers cutting the other up, after joining the roundabout from the Crownhill direction. I use this route on a daily basis and as it's my intention to go straight on, I stay in the outside lane approaching the roundabout. You need to be extra vigilant and keep an eye on your nearside mirror for the idiots that use the wrong approach lane, which is for turning left only but then go straight on. I'm too old to want to start a fight over it but I have had numerous near misses because of these clowns. I might just make a gesture that they should put their "seat belt" on!”
