Man rescued from sixth floor flat by Plymouth firefighters
FIREFIGHTERS rescued a man from a sixth floor flat fire on Saturday night.
Crews from Camels Head, Greenbank and the aerial platform from Crownhill were called to Duke Street, Devonport at 11.27pm after residents reported smelling smoke and hearing a fire alarm sounding.
On arrival firefighters wearing breathing apparatus found there was a small fire involving a cooker in a sixth floor flat.
A man at the property was rescued by fire crews and treated by paramedics from the South Western Ambulance Service after suffering the effects of smoke inhalation.
