“The dog licence system should be re-introduced. The licence should be expensive to stop idiots owning these devil-dogs.”

“whyyy? people should just keep there thoughts to themselves, pitbulls and staffys are only seen as viscious as there fighting dogs, any dog can attack, and yes it is childish to say i will set my dog on you i admit but it wasnt his fault the dog was to attack was it? and after the attack, as annoyed and upset as the women must have been she had no right to start abuse with the man.”

“I would also like to add that as a dog owner I regard myself as the one responsible if my dog gets out of control and fights with another dog . Knowing my dog I make sure she keeps away from others . Sometimes you get the clever idiots who decide that its ok to come really close even though we move away ... then its their fault .... on our regular walks we meet loads of other walkers and nearly all are decent and responsible .. but there is still the occasional idiot that even though there is miles of space must come really close .”

“Yet again ppl are replying on stories and have a view where they tuly no nothing on the subject...else there wouldnt be such stupid comments made!
Fact - Any dog can attack be it a labrador, Jack Russell or 'Pit Bull Type Dog'. At the end of the day they are an animal with such instincts doesnt matter if they are trained or not, one day the most loyal dog could turn on another animal or person. The only thing with this type breed is that they have very powerful jaws and if they do turn then the injuries inflicted are likely to be more severe.
Fact - Although I cant find it I believe I read that most reports about dog bite injuries are inflicted by Labradors
Fact - Some irresponsible owners and people that should not own any dog of any breed take advantage of Staffordshire Bull Terriers and other such breeds eagerness to please their owner by training them to be vicious. Unfortunetly this does happen and because this type of breed is quite cheap to buy if you do not go to a reputable breeder then alot of so called 'Chavs' can afford them and they are being sold to the type of owner that will treat and train them in such a way....not saying all chavs mistreat thier dogs though.
Yet again the media only report stories when its this type breed to get a reaction. Just doesnt have the same ring to it if a person with a Jack Russell is abusive to another dog owner.....which believes me happens and have first hand experience of it. In fact when I have been out walking my dog which is a Staffordshire the only problems I have had are with Dogs that have the equivalent of short man syndrome. My Stafford has been attacked 3 times by other dog breeds and she has just ran off whimpeing. Now I bet if she turned and reacted suddenly it would be her and my fault because I am an owner of a 'Fighing dog'
We are a family with 3 young children under 4 and all it comes down to is understanding and being a responsible owner. I love the breed, they are not known as the nanny breed for nothing.
Its just a pity they are readily available with such cheap prices that make them affordable to certain owners (Like this guy by the sound of it) who buy them to take advantage of willingness to please by training them in such a way.
I hope the owner is found and made an example of - idiot.”
