Man took cash from account of woman, 86
A MAN has been sent to prison for a year for fraud after taking nearly £1,000 from the bank account of an 86-year-old woman.
Thomas Hodge, aged 36, of St Mary's Street in Stonehouse, was caught on CCTV outside Lloyds TSB bank in the city centre taking the money from the account.
Lee Brembridge, of the Crown Prosecution Service, said: "The card was fraudulently used on four occasions with transactions drawing out hundreds of pounds."
Recorder Malcolm Gibney sentenced Hodge to 12 months imprisonment despite already serving 142 days on remand.

He said: "You have been before the court on a 23 occasions including offences of dishonesty and you have a bad history of offending.
"The elderly people who have had their money stolen were very vulnerable.
"If you knew of the vulnerability of those elderly people you would be going to prison for a long time indeed."
