Manhunt after robbery

POLICE are appealing for information after a robbery at a convenience store on Thursday evening.

At around 10pm two men entered Spar on Old Laira Road, in Laira, and demanded cash from the shop assistant, police have said.

The two men were disturbed and ran out of the store empty handed.

A 23-year-old male is currently in custody at Charles Cross police station.

Officers are now urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have information regarding the robbery, to call them on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting crime reference EC/12/8292.
