Mattress causes A38 tailbacks after falling from moving vehicle
TRAFFIC backed up along the A38 after a mattress fell from the roof of a moving vehicle.
Police said they received a number of reports from drivers shortly before 4pm yesterday after the mattress was seen on the westbound stretch of the A38 between the Weston Mill and the Tamar Bridge.
A police spokesman said the mattress had fallen from the roof of a vehicle and settled in the middle of the road, causing cars to slow.
The spokesman said: "The unsecured load caused quite a bit of backlog along the A38 as it occurred at the start of rush-hour.
