WHITE and Pilgrim memberships for Plymouth Argyle's 2009/10 season have gone on sale.

A White membership, which entitles the holder to attend six home Championship matches of their choice, is top-priced at £154 for an adult who wants to sit in the Devonport, Barn Park and Lyndhurst stands.

But they can be as cheap as £35 for an under-18 who opts to sit in the Mayflower Enclosure.

The White membership gives supporters who are unable to commit to buying a full season ticket the opportunity to get ahead of the queue for tickets to see Newcastle United, Middlesbrough, West Bromwich Albion and Ian Holloway's Blackpool.

A Pilgrim membership costs £30 across the board.

Among the entitlements Pilgrim members receive is priority over non-members for tickets for cup ties like the FA Cup third round clash at Arsenal last season. For further information on all memberships, call the Argyle box office on 0845 338 7232.

White membership

Main ground: adults £154, over-65s and under-23s, £101, under-18s £47.

Mayflower Enclosure: adults £100, over-65s and under-23s £77, under-18s £35.

“If adult seat tickets (excl Mayflower) are £24 again, then the £154 price represents a premium of £10 over and above the price of six tickets - only really worthwhile, I guess, if we get another big cup draw.

The club were a little bit "economical with the truth" when they said that season ticket prices were being frozen. When the 2008 tickets went on sale, the VAT rate was 17.5%, at the moment it is 15%, so by keeping the gross price the same, the club is pocketing an extra 2.5% - not a big amount per ticket, I know, but other clubs passed this on to their fans.”

“When will the prices for single match admittance be announced? Any increase above last season's (stupidly elevated) prices will put even more people off.”
