HEAVY rain throughout today could lead to flooding and blocked roads, according to the Met Office.

A yellow warning has been issued for downpours across Plymouth until 8pm this evening.

Heavy rainfall is also expected in other parts of Devon and across Cornwall.

A Met Office spokesman said: "Further rain, heavy at times, will spread northeast across the region during Thursday. With the ground already saturated and rivers running high the public should be aware that there is a risk of localised flooding and disruption to travel."
