Millbrook school's solar panel campaign hots up
A SCHOOL has raised more than half the £10,000 it needs to install solar panels on its roof.
Millbrook Primary School's ambitious fundraising campaign will be given a bit of pedal power on Saturday, February 23, when a sponsored bike ride will add more than £2,000 to the £5,600 already collected.
The 17 cyclists will pedal from Land's End to Millbrook in one day, a distance of more than 70 miles. Their main sponsor is Evely Electrical.
They will get a welcome home during a "fun afternoon" at the school.

The money is being raised through the nationwide Solar Schools project.
Schools are using an innovative fundraising toolkit to "crowd-source" money from their local communities to invest in solar panels.
Parents, businesses and alumni can sponsor sections of the school's "virtual solar roof" online at www.solarschools.org.uk/millbrook.
Millbrook is one of the four schools in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly selected to become part of the campaign.

“That's nice. Now they'll know what it's like to have electricity in Millbrook.”
