Miss Plymouth Leanne Ward bids to scoop Miss Devon crown
REIGNING Miss Plymouth Leanne Ward was due to compete against 11 other girls for the Miss Devon title today.
The 22-year-old was hoping to follow in the footsteps of Charlotte Holmes, the former Face of Plymouth who went on to be crowned Miss England after triumphing in the contest.
As part of the pageant, Leanne will be doing a sponsored sky dive at 15,000 feet for the charity Beauty with a Purpose at the end of May – and has raised over £200 so far by working as an amateur photographer.
Leanne was crowned Miss Cornwall in 2011, and Miss Plymouth in 2012. Now she is gunning for the Devon title.

"I'm hoping I can keep the Miss Devon crown in the South West and go on to compete for Miss England later this year," she said.
Current Miss England Charlotte, whose modelling career was launched following her victory in The Herald's Face of Plymouth contest, will be hosting the Miss England 2013 grand final in Torbay later this year.
