THE B Bar keeps the laughs coming in Plymouth with Patrick Monahan on September 2.

Patrick, pictured right, started off on a well-travelled route to fame... the glamorous Irish/Iranian/Teesside stand-up circuit.

His warm, friendly, lively story telling style should go down a treat at the Barbican venue as it has in comedy festivals and leading clubs in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leicester and Manchester.

Monahan's CV also has shows from the west of Ireland to the Middle-East as well as across most of Europe, including Luxembourg, Germany, Brussels, France, Greece and Monaco.

He has appeared on numerous television shows from BBC1, 2, 3 to ITV1 and 2, C4, Channel 5, Sky 1 and UKTV, as a presenter, guest interviewee, panel member and performer.

He's currently much sought-after as a regular TV and studio warm up, on shows such as Friday Night Jonathan Ross plus The Catherine Tate Show, and The Kumars at No 42. Along the way Monahan draws on his own experiences of growing up on Teesside with Irish and Iranian parentage.

Also on the bill are Aaron Counter, William Morris, and Nicholas Marshall.

Counter entertains his audiences with a measured, self-assured stage presence and flat out funny material. Engaging and quick-witted, his relaxed and playful delivery balances nicely against a sometimes acerbic take on modern life.

Born in Australia, Aaron has swiftly established himself as a regular act at comedy venues throughout the UK. In 2005 he was a Finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards and in 2006 he appeared in the Big Value Show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Since then he has performed extensively throughout the UK and abroad.

Morris' take on his famous namesake, ageing, work, family life and modern Europe appeals to a broad range of audiences and has already won him glowing reviews.

Marshall, who is MC for the night, is a regular performer on the London Comedy Circuit.
