Mum's the word for singer Jessica
SINGER Jessica Sweetman is sharing with the world a Mothering Sunday musical treat she created for her mum.
The song she wrote has been put on a website for anybody to listen to.

And now the singer-songwriter is planning to make the tune available as a download ready for Mothers' Day, March 22.
Ironically, the happy tune was created on a miserable night at home in south-east Cornwall.
Jessica said: "I was in my flat one night when the electricity went. I'd run out of £1 coins and I was freezing in the dark with no heating or light.
"I was living in Looe at the time, near the harbour, so I opened the curtains for the town lights to shine in, picked up my guitar because there was nothing else to do and sat for hours making up a tune and a song for my mum.
"When I played Mothers Song for her, she loved it. She's been spreading the word since."
Jessica is now back living in Seaton with parents Sue and Mark, a fellow-musician who has co-written with his daughter in the past.
She said: "Anybody can listen to the song on YouTube but I'm trying to get it on iTunes so that people can download it for their mums."
If you like the tune and the singer you can hear Jessica in person on Saturday, February 21, at the Seven Stars Inn, Tamerton Foliot, and on March 6 and March 13 at the Inn On The Shore, Downderry.
Jessica began performing as a Norah Jones tribute – her voice and style have been compared with the jazz favourite.
Now, though, she's broadened her act to include country and pop in the style of Katie Melua, Eva Cassidy and KT Tunstall, along with some of her own tunes.
She said her proud mum was keen for her to write more songs of her own, though.
Jessica added: "Every night she says she's going to turn the electricity off to make me write some more!

“I've been to a few of her gigs. She really knows how to deliver a song, whether it's a slow jazz number or a rauncy rocker. I really like this song she's wrote for her mom. Good luck with it.”

“I went to see this girl sing live at the Seven Stars. She was awesome. Her versions of Mustang Sally and The Beatles Come Together blew me away. She is going to be big!!!”

“A beautiful and moving song from a daughter to her mother. Shame some people feel the need to write ignorant comments.”
