A MUSICAL evening featuring a new all-girl band will raise money to help nurses from Derriford Hospital treat hernia patients in  Ghana.

The event, in aid of Derriford's Operation Hernia, will featuring the Laira Youth Band and a debut performance by all-female band Say It Like It Is.

The venue is Woodford Methodist Church in Plympton on October 17, from 5.30pm to 8pm. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for under-16s. For tickets call Ali Stout on 07790 555590.

Ali and fellow-nurses Denise Richards, Julie Green, Jayne Buckley, Chris Tinsley and Lizzie Stone will be aiming to perform as many hernia repairs as possible during their stay.
