AFTER the success of Mad Dog's New Year's Eve bash and a couple of tester gigs, C103 in Union Street will be presenting a series of live shows courtesy of promoter Ray Rose.

Tonight the Complete Stone Roses will strut their stuff, offering as much authenticity to the heyday of Madchester as is humanly possible.

Future C103 shows include Stiff Little Fingers on March 25, the return of Mad Dog on March 31 and the Buzzcocks on May 18.

SHARP-suited drum'n'guitar duo Moriaty will be peddling their dirty, bluesy wall of sound at the James Street Vaults this Saturday and at the Voodoo Lounge next Wednesday.

Matt (drums) and Jordon (guitar), both members of other prominent local bands, met up at T in the Park in 2010 and decided to make music together. They're currently recording their new EP with maestro producer John Cornfield and released their superb single Mindsweeper on February 15 on iTunes.

UNITED Fruit, pictured, come to the White Rabbit on Sunday night, all the way from Glasgow, as part of their European tour.

Think the rawness of Sonic Youth or Shellac, the melody and intensity of Pixies, topped off with the dynamism from a band such as And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead.

What's more Brunel, a 'super-group' of members of top local bands will debut on support duties.

Starts at 8pm, finishes early, so home in time for a cocoa before bed!
