BACKBEAT BEATLES

A Valentine's night cabaret at the Matchroom, Plympton tomorrow night features the Backbeat Beatles, back by popular demand.

The band was formed by actor/songwriter Chris O'Neill following his successful role in the BAFTA award winning Beatles film Backbeat.

Hailed by the Daily Mail as 'the closest you'll get to the real thing,' they are arguably the premier Beatles tribute band anywhere and the fact that they come from Liverpool, means that their vocals and natural wit sound incredibly authentic.

SUNRISE WITH WURLITZA

Five-piece Cornish band Wurlitza (left) return to the Calstock Arts at the Old Chapel, Calstock, tomorrow night with a brand-new film project, FW Murnau's expressionist masterpiece Sunrise.

The band will accompany the film show with live music by Bach, Talking Heads, Echo and the Bunnymen, Madness, and The Vapors plus many of their own compositions.

Their performance at The Old Chapel last year with Piccadilly attracted great reviews.

Join them for a truly unique and memorable experience, great for all ages.

ZZ TOP AND ARE YOU EXPERIENCED

There's a double bill of tribute shows at the Wharf tomorrow night as the ZZ Tops return to offer their three-man homage to rock's best-loved Texan boogie band with two hours of hot-rodded rock'n'roll.

Support comes from Are You Experienced, a band formed 14 years ago and now widely hailed as the best Jimi tribute show around.

Ahead of them tonight at the venue you can see some very fine original foot-stomping folk music courtesy of our very own Mad Dog McRea.
