Mystery donor quadruples fund for orphanage
A CITY campaign to raise money to help build a school for orphans in Central America has quadrupled since appearing in The Herald.
Amy Bray has been left overwhelmed after an anonymous donor more than quadrupled the amount raised online for ThePoundCampaign.
The campaign, which was founded last month, aims to help raise funds for a school in Guatemala to help educate orphans.
The 24 year old said: "The generosity of this unknown person or group came as such an unbelievable shock.

"I couldn't believe it when I saw the total money raised had gone from around £500 to more than £2,000 in a matter of minutes.
"I cannot thank the donors enough for their kindness and support.
"To think how it will change these children's lives just makes me so delighted."
The School of Hope is being built in memory of the founder of the orphanage who died in a car crash in December 2011.
Amy will teach at the school for four months when she visits the country in the January to meet the children.
She is already thinking about a possible return to the country following her initial visit.
Amy continued: "The support is growing all the time and we are doing all we can to reach the £3,100 target before I leave in January.
"Each week that goes by I am amazed at how many hearts are being touched by this campaign.
"I just want to thank the people of Devon and everyone else for helping us out with this."
The total raised for the campaign is more than £2,400 and with a Moctober fundraiser currently under way, encouraging men to grow moustaches for the cause, it's hoped the total will continue to rise.
