Mystery gunman hunted after two sheep are shot near A38 in Devon
A mystery gunman with a high-powered rifle has shot two sheep, close to one of Devon's busiest roads.
One sheep was killed and the other slightly injured in the attack in a field at Pridhamsleigh, alongside the A38 Devon Expressway, near Buckfastleigh.

PC Nick Talbot of Devon and Cornwall police said there were fears for the safety of the public if the gunman struck again.
"An apparently motiveless shooting like this is a concern," he warned.

“If the coppers have found the bullet they can round up all the licensed high-power rifles in Devon (there can't be many) and forensically match the bullet to the weapon, it's not rocket science.”

“Presumably the police are calling it motiveless because there is no evidence that anyone had a grudge against the sheep in question?”
