THOUSANDS of NHS dental places are to become available in Ivybridge.

The boost will be brought by Den Dental, which is opening a practice on Fore Street towards the end of September.

The move will create 9,000 new dental places in the town.

Andrew Harris, who manages dentistry for NHS Devon, said: "It is good news that more people in Ivybridge will be able to see an NHS dentist.

"We have provided over 50,000 extra dental places across Devon over the past two years and we are continuing to improve access to NHS dental services to meet the needs of local communities."
