Nat Saumi still looking to bolster his Plymouth Albion squad
NAT SAUMI is looking to strengthen his Plymouth Albion squad ahead of Thursday's Championship transfer deadline.
The Albion boss would like to bring in more cover at full-back and fly-half with Henry Slade away on international duty for England Under-20s and Louis Messer still out injured.
Albion have managed for the past month without any specialist fly-half and goalkicking back-up for Paul Roberts.
Saumi did try to sign Exeter's Myles Dorrian on loan but he opted to return to his former club Bedford on a similar arrangement.

Albion also drew a blank with short-term moves for former players Nic Sestaret and Sione Tu'ipulotu.
"I am still trying hard," said the Fijian, whose team have not won in the league since November 9. "We will just have to see how it goes over the next couple of days. It is quite hard to get players at this time of year, but I am still looking. The window has still not closed. We have got until Thursday."
Saumi, though, has no intention of just signing any player. He admits that if he is going to bring any new people into the club they have to be the right ones.
"It is very important to find the right players," he said.
"I just have to keep looking. If something comes that would be good, but if not then I just have to utilise the squad we've got."
Meanwhile, Saumi says backs Rhodri McAtee and Tom Bowen have recovered from injuries, picked up in Albion's last match, against visiting Bedford Blues on February 16.
McAtee had to go off at half-time with a shoulder injury, while Bowen picked up a calf problem in the second period.
"They are fine," said Saumi.
The Albion boss, though, is still waiting to see if Canadian lock Brett Beukeboom will be fit to face Nottingham this Sunday.
Beukeboom missed the Bedford game due to an infection.
"Brett's back in training and recovering slowly," said Saumi. "Hopefully, he will be fit, but we'll see how he goes this week."
Albion are also still waiting to hear about the extent of Jack Arnott's injury.
The dual registered wing damaged his shoulder playing for England Under-20s against France on Saturday.
