New Plymouth music festival dubbed a "massive success"
A NEW music festival held in the city centre has been dubbed a "massive success".
The 5 Mountains Festival combined urban, folk and acoustic performances with graffiti art, break dancing and a craft fair in an exciting mix of events.
Music performances took place at Voodoo Lounge and The Roundabout in the city centre for the festival, which was organised to raise cash for male cancer charity Orchid.
Musicians included Tom Baker, Tim Leay and band Land of the Giants.

As a testicular cancer sufferer himself, Gareth O'Brien arranged the packed line-up as part of his mission to raise £10,000 for Orchid.
The assistant manager at Voodoo hopes to raise the cash by scaling five mountains across the world – each climb represents a year since he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.
Gareth said: "It was really good, a massive success – the turnout was absolutely amazing.
"All the support crew have already been on at me to organise another one.
"Also lots of local musicians and artists who came down to support the festival now want to be involved in another one. A highlight for me was Battlestations, which was mainly an under-18s event.
"Break dancing crews joined us from Newcastle and Portsmouth to compete and it was just a fantastic atmosphere.
"I think the festival raised around £1,500 for Orchid which is amazing, and thanks must go to sound engineer Glen Towlson who did a great job and got lots of people involved."
