New calls for Tory 'pleb' MP to be sacked
GOVERNMENT chief whip Andrew Mitchell should be sacked by the Prime Minister, the shadow home secretary said as Labour stepped up its attacks on the embattled politician.
Yvette Cooper said the time had passed for clarifications and apologies over Mr Mitchell's alleged use of the word "pleb", and said David Cameron had to act.
Mr Mitchell, who was accused in news reports of a foul-mouthed rant at Downing Street police officers when they would not let him cycle through the street's main gate, has apologised for not treating officers with respect but denied calling them plebs.
good time of the year for getting that house painted, free quote,

“When anybody calls somebody a pleb it means he regards himself as a cut above them and one of the ruling classes.
Mitchell should remember that WE the people rule HIM, as he'll find out if the 'plebs'give him the chop at the next elections..:)”

“pogle I dont believe `insulting` a police officer should get you hauled in front of a judge anymore then insulting a fellow member of the public, the idea of that is that police are somehow worth more then anyone else and that's a dangerous road to go down, couldn't care less about Andrew Mitchell hes a Tory so automatically nothing in my eyes but the idea of it being a criminal offence to call someone a `pleb` or anything else is pushing the boundary's of free speech is it not?”

“Andrew Mitchell is a highly paid senior member of the Government, he has made a grave mistake and should be sacked or demoted.
It just goes to show that the us and them mentallity that exists between the Government and the People it is supposed to be in touch with.
An ordinary citizen can be hauled up before a judge under the public order act for absuive language, denying what was said would not cut it with a judge. The police only need to colloberate the incident and that is usually enough to get some sort of punishment.
The fact that this moron can deny saying what he said merely goes to highlight the fact that there is definately one rule for them and one for everyone else.
He should have been sacked or severely demoted, but no the government looks after its own.
The police should have done more to make it so - it just goes to show the utter contempt these people have for the people in general.”

“Im not defending andrew mitchell at all but does anyone think the police are going overboard here? Why is it such a big deal if he insults a policemen? it seems the police see themselves as the untouchables in todays society, I doubt they would have taken the same kind of action if hed said such a thing to a member of the public and thats just wrong.”

“Sack him for giving his african despot mate 16 million and for his arrogant attitude by all means .... but dont think anyone labour are asking this for our benefit . Its political points for them and nothing else . I never heard any labour member calling for the sacking of their leader when he called ordinary english people sick of enforced multicultrasim and immigration and rushing of suddenly to sign the Lisbon treaty just days before he knew he was to be booted out without their consent "bigots".”

“It seems a bit harsh to demand Mitchell's head on a plate for lying about something this trivial, when Cameron and Clegg lied through their teeth about the NHS and student finances and are allowed to run the country.”
