NEW digital message signs are to be put up in two busy city roads.

Work will begin today to install two new electronic sign boards, known as Variable Message Signs, on Wolseley Road and Plymouth Road.

The signs will be used to give information to travellers about incidents, congestion, events and alternative routes and can be updated instantly. Installation will take up to three weeks and there will be lane closures while work is in progress.

On Wolseley Road there will be an inbound lane closure between the St Levan Road roundabout and the Britannia Inn between 9.30am and 3pm each day. The lane will stay open outside these hours to minimise disruption during peak traffic periods. The bus shelter near the St Levan Road roundabout will remain in use for the duration of the work.
