ARGYLE striker Nick Chadwick wants to put his recent injury misery behind him.

Chadwick, who nailed the crucial first goal against Southend United on Saturday in Argyle's 2-2 draw, missed four games after suffering a hamstring injury against Torquay United on January 2.

He finally made it back to Argyle's starting line-up as the Greens pulled off a dramatic 1-1 draw with title hopefuls Crawley Town.

But Chadwick admitted he didn't feel back to his best until Saturday's Southend game, which Argyle drew after going 2-0 behind.

Chadwick said: "Against Torquay, I felt really good, but then I pulled my hamstring, which I had never done before.

"I tried to get back, but in training, I did it again. That was probably another game I missed when I needn't have.

"I played in the game last week, but everybody at the ground knew I'd only trained for two days and been out for four weeks with a hamstring problem.

"It was a case of trying to feel my way back into it last week and make sure I got a full game and try and help the team out.

"This week (against Southend) was far more like it. I had a week's training behind me and everything's fine, so let's move forward."

Chadwick, who is in his second spell with Argyle, admitted he had taken a chance with his hamstring in an attempt to get back playing.

He said: "You don't take a chance with a hamstring, but I did and that's the problem.

"I knew I'd nicked my hamstring – I never thought I was fast enough to nick my hamstring.

"But it's only a low-grade thing and I was just desperate to keep the momentum going and keep scoring goals to help the club.

"It was just unfortunate, but it was for a few games and it's hard to sit there and watch when you know you could be making a difference.

"It's all about playing games now and keeping going until the end of the season and getting a few more goals."

“With Argyle playing with two widemen who hopefully can get the ball into the box for CHADWICK to run onto and attack,(as he did at Everton ) I can see him doing very well in this league. First time around he was unlucky with injuries and adapting to Bobby Williamsons style was a problem, but you always got 100% effort from him, I agree he adds that extra bit of leadership to the side.
Hope he can stay clear of any injuries.”

“With maturity comes the ability to accept more responsibility. NC is now one of the senior pros, a leader amongst the squad, which I am sure he recognises. Add that to the knowledge that he is assured of a starting place every week rather than just being a bit part player in a highly talented team and his confidence grows. I was impressed with a number of his performances in the Championship - winning goals away at Palace and Sunderland - he just wasn't fit enough for a long enough period of time. His form at present shows that he is more than capable of playing at a higher level so I, for one, am really pleased to have him back. Well done NC, keep it up.”

    “Shut up farmer jack.

You know it, I know and about 3000 carrot crunching straw chewing tractor drivers know it as well. Conference league next stop followed by another spell in administration followed by no more Plymouth argyle. Happy days.”

“Chadders attitude on the pitch seems different this time around, he is more determined and positive with his approach, especially within sight of goal. His first goal on saturday demonstrated his lust for goals and he was unlucky not to score the second, but young Alex Mac took full advantage from the rebound. What I like most about Chadders is that he has developed into a team player.”
