A PLYMOUTH restaurant has followed up winning a top award by being nominated for another.

The Glassblowing House, on the Barbican, triumphed in the Best Employers in Hospitality Awards picking up the overall national title in June. Now it has followed this with a shortlisting for the national Hospitality Apprentice Employer of the Year Award.

Ed Steven, the restaurant's managing director, said: "This is a tribute to the team.

"We have a well-developed apprenticeship program providing excellent training for those seeking a career in the industry but with a difference: our scheme guarantees a full-time job at the end of the apprenticeship program.

"There cannot be many such schemes in the UK, let alone Plymouth".

The Glassblowing House works closely with City College Plymouth on the apprenticeship program.
