Olympic style for games event in Titchy Park

RESIDENTS were going for gold at an Olympic-themed fun day yesterday.

North Prospect residents crowded into Titchy Park and took part in 10 'Titchy challenges'.

They included long jump, hula hooping, skipping, football skills and word games.

The day was opened by Olympic torchbearer Dan Pengelly. Dan was nominated to carry the Torch for his work with young people and helping them to enjoy sport.

Local group Dance Steps were showing off their moves in a special display in the park to keep the crowds entertained.

There was also be a free bouncy castle, skate ramps, children's entertainment, face painting and sports competitions.
