Firefighters from Tavistock arrived to clear up a fuel spillage caused by the crash.

The driver did not allegedly have permission to drive the vehicle, although it was not reported stolen, say police.

A police spokesman said: "The driver of the car has been street bailed and is due to attend a police station soon."

No other vehicles were involved.
