Helen Smith, PE relief teacher at Tor Bridge High, said: "After weeks of hard work, our students are excited about sharing their achievements with Kate.

"Her visit will give our young people a real life example of how commitment and dedication in sport can change someone's life. We are proud to welcome such an inspiring sport star to our school."

The pupils, who have been selected by their teachers to take part in the project, will have the opportunity to share the activities they have been involved with, their achievements and the skills they have learned with Kate.

Kate will also share her experiences and life lessons learned through her sport with the group.

Using her story of triumph over adversity, Kate will also support teachers at Tor Bridge High to motivate the pupils to be the best they can be.

Kate said: "Meeting pupils in schools such as Tor Bridge High is truly inspiring. I hope that by sharing the positive experiences that sport has played in my life, I can motivate young people to improve their own lives too."

Sky Sports Living for Sport is a free secondary schools initiative, delivered in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust, which uses sport stars and sport skills to boost confidence, change behaviours, increase attainment and improve life skills.

Sky Sports Living for Sport is designed to empower students and throughout the session Kate will use the British Athletes Commission's 'Six Keys to Success', which include mental toughness, hunger to achieve, people skills, sports and life knowledge, breaking barriers and planning for success, to help them achieve their own life goals.

“NOW THIS story and NOT flipping TD should be at the top of the news pile. Kate has overcome more in her life so far than TD will in a life time”
