Parking at heritage and leisure trails may be cheaper
CYCLISTS and walkers using the new Tamar Trails could be in line for cheaper parking.
West Devon Borough Council is reviewing charges at Bedford Sawmills car park and Maddacleave.
The council is planning to bring in a new £1 tariff for two hours in addition to the existing £2 charge for parking all day.
Blue badge holders would be able to park for free at Bedford Sawmills, where they currently have to pay.

Cllr Robert Oxborough, the council's community services committee chairman, said: "Bringing in the new £1 tariff will make it more affordable for people who like to go on shorter walks or cycle rides in the area."
The council is keen to hear the views of residents and visitors about the changes (call Cathy Aubertin on 01822 813600 or email firstname.lastname@example.org).
The income from both car parks is ring-fenced and can only be spent on the trails, part of the Tamar Valley Mining Heritage Project, and rental payments to landowners.
