Second-rower Hamer struck just five minutes from time with the scores locked at 5-5 in diabolical conditions at Delgany Sports Field.
Scrum-half Ed Neeves somehow managed to lift the ball out from the glutinous pitch and between the posts, thus adding an extra two points which helped calm home nerves.

Tiffins, from south west London, would have gone through had the scores remained level at full-time, due to their results earlier in the competition.
The hosts had taken the lead in the first half, through their other second-rower, Oliver Demaine.
And although, Plymouth dominated 80 per cent of the tie, a defensive blunder in the second period threw the Richmond-on-Thames-based visitors a lifeline. Plymouth are now just one match away from a glamorous Twickenham final which they will reach if they can beat opponents The Yarm on Sunday, March 3.
The semi-final is being held on a neutral ground, at the RFU Centre in Coventry, where the city college will bid to maintain their magnificent run in the national competition.
