Paul Wotton scores for Argyle in 'reserves' victory over Torquay

PAUL WOTTON scored with one his trademark powerful penalties as Argyle beat Torquay in a 'reserves' game at Home Park this afternoon.

Wotton fired the Pilgrims into a 32nd minute lead from the spot after substitute Isaac Vassell was fouled by Torquay centre-back Angus MacDonald.

Vassell was an early substitute for Argyle striker Tyler Harvey, who suffered a knee injury in a tackle with MacDonald.

The Pilgrims had several chances to extend their lead before midfielder Jamie Lowry headed home from close range in the 62nd minute.

That was the way it stayed until full-time, with Argyle 'keeper Ollie Chenoweth rarely troubled by the visitors.
