Pensioner Brian Macey-Morris in Plymouth court charged with sexual assaults on girl 30 years ago
The 72-year-old has been charged with 13 counts of sexual assault against a young teenager in the early 1980s.
Macey-Morris, who would have been in his early 40s at the time the alleged offences took place, is accused of carrying out the attacks in the Bristol area.
Plymouth Magistrates' Court heard yesterday how Macey-Morris also has further allegations against him.
But he has recently suffered a stroke which could make a trial difficult, the bench was told.
Macey-Morris' address was given as HMP Dartmoor.
No pleas were entered during yesterday's short hearing in the city.
The case against the pensioner was committed to Plymouth Crown Court.
Medical reports must be prepared ahead of a hearing at the city's senior court which was set for April 8.
