Every Shrove Tuesday people across the world now make pancakes, traditionally with a topping of lemon and sugar, and often try to toss them to cook both sides.
In this Plymouth video, Chris Tanner of Tanners Restaurant in Plymouth and Nick at the River Cottage Canteen Kitchen and Deli at the Royal William Yard in Plymouth show you their different takes on a simple pancake recipe.
Using flour, milk, eggs, salt, sugar and butter TV chef Chris makes a perfectly measured and strained batter for pancakes, while Nick at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's restaurant goes for a more rugged approach.

“If I want a pancake I think that out of the two ,it would have to be tanners . The river cottage was very hit and miss.... just like I would do. And I wouldnt pay money for someone who cooks like me .”

“Wow, those two have obvously tossed a lot over the years. No mess on their clothes, and none of it ended up on the ceiling. Well done boys.”
