Photo contest deadline
THERE'S less than a week to go for Plymouth-based photography competition, but organisers want to hear from more young snappers.
The RIBA Plymouth branch want photographers to capture the very essence of this fine city in 2012 "through, and highlighting contrasts in, the city and its built environment".
The competition is open to all, but organisers have yet to have many submissions for the category of under 16s.
On offer to the young snappers is a first prize of £150, a second prize of £100 and a third prize of £75.

The competition will be judged by local historian Chris Robinson, The Herald's picture editor Pete Holdgate, FOTONOW, photographer Caroline Burke, and the chair of RIBA Cornwall Tim Hancock.
There is no entry fee for the competition, no forms to fill in, just send your pictures and words.
Entries need to be submitted by midnight on May 7, image files must be 300dpi and a maximum of 3mb in jpeg format, along with an image title and 50 words (max) description, to simon.francis@capita.co.uk, either colour or black and white. You must provide your name and address.
