Plymouth and its inhabitants turned celebrated the city's heroes of the 2012 Olympics in style.
From the old man who lives across the street at the starting point, Plymouth College, giving the athletes a nod and a wave with his cup of tea while leaning on his cane to the little boy on his mother's shoulders in the middle of the crowd of thousands that gathered outside the Civic Hall, they all turned out to hail their Olympic heroes.
