Plymouth Herald

FROM homecoming celebrations for our 2012 athletes to handlebar moustaches, The Herald has captured every key moment of the year for Plymouth.

But while they had front-row seats at high-profile events such as the London Olympics, our photographers have been roaming the city's streets all year through in search of shots with that 'WOW factor'.

  1. CLOCKWISE, FROM TOP LEFT: Raiders' Jeremy Bell goes up for the basket; Homecoming celebration for Plymouth's 2012 athletes and games makers; Tom Daley wins bronze and the team jump in; Brandon has a go at a water hose with help from firefighter Mervin Mullinger; Mike Bates, of Southway, entering the Handlebar and Moustache competition in Brighton; Joseph and union flag glasses at a jubilee party; Prime Minister David Cameron visits Babcock Marine and Stonehouse Barracks; Schoolchildren in the stands at Argyle represent the number of youngsters Operation Encompass (to protect children) had called about; The annual bus and vehicle rally on the Hoe

Not a moment was missed.

These stunning images are just a handful picked out by The Herald's photographic team as some of their favourites to emerge from the dark room during 2012.
